The Big Brown Barn (BBB) is proudly family-owned and lovingly run by husband-and-wife duo Dr. Oliver and Christine Miller, who have spent decades building a life rooted in community, craft, and connection to the land.
Their shared dream began long before the barn doors ever opened. Drawn together by their love for nature and hands-on learning, Dr. Oliver and Christine Miller spent years exploring the countryside, tending gardens, restoring old structures, and imagining a place where people could gather – not just to celebrate life’s milestones, but to learn, create, and grow together.
In 2005, they found that place. Two historic barns, weathered by time but rich in character, became the foundation for what would one day become The Big Brown Barn (BBB). With patience and determination, the Millers have maintained the property board by board, honoring its 1800s heritage while shaping a space filled with warmth, purpose, and possibility.
By 2015, the dream had fully taken root. What began as a family project evolved into a thriving community hub for weddings, celebrations, sustainability workshops, and creative classes – all guided by the Millers’ belief that meaningful moments and meaningful skills belong in the same place.
Today, The Big Brown Barn (BBB) is supported by a small, dedicated team that shares Dr. Oliver and Christine Miller’s passion for hospitality, education, and stewarding the land. From preparing the venue for celebrations to assisting with workshops, our team’s hands-on care ensures that every guest feels welcomed, supported, and at home.
